HOW IT WORKS

1. Computer Lab

Progressive Learning’s program takes place in the school computer lab and is monitored by credentialed on-site instructors.


2. Assigned Academic Coach (On-line Teacher)

The Academic Coach is a credentialed teacher specifically chosen for the student. They communicate exclusively with the student through secured and monitored email. Students compose an email to their Academic Coach during their after school session. Before the next session, the Academic Coach will respond with encouragement and support in areas where the student is struggling. The Academic Coach gets to know the student’s personality, academic strengths and areas for motivational support.

3. Student Assessment

We ensure that our self-paced, on-line instruction and learning activities target each student's specific achievement goals. We assess the student's skill sets in each subject and explicitly identify areas that require attention.

4. Individualized Learning Plan

Results from the diagnostic assessments are used to generate an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) for the student. The ILP reveals the assessed skill gaps and identifies learning activities that need attention. We outline an array of lesson plans that will make up the student's individualized computer based tutoring curriculum.

5. Lesson Plans

Our educational software is interactive, easy to navigate and quickly engages the student’s full attention.

6. Progress Report

Our on-line program allows the student to monitor their own academic development and to review their performance as they complete learning activities. In addition, the Academic Coach provides regular feedback regarding performance and helps to prepare for upcoming learning activities.
